Effectiveness of nitazoxanide in the treatment of COVID-19 related diarrhoea

Background: Diarrhoea is becoming one of the most prominent and troublesome manifestations in COVID-19 infection but no definitive treatment available. So Nitazoxanide was used to see whether it can shorten duration sufferings form related diarrhoea.
 Objective: To efficacy decreasing frequency improving consistency stool Methods: This randomized comparative study done private chambers medicine specialists Khulna patients admitted corona dedicated hospital, from July 2020 June 2021. 100 were enrolled using & ORS (oral rehydration solution) 50 only another patients. Decreased volume at 24, 48 72 hours both groups compared.
 Results: After giving diarrhoea patients, improvement 90% 24 hours: 96% 98% cases hours. On other hand, without found 30%, 40% 50% respectively. effective (p <0.05) reducing stool.
 Conclusion: significantly improves by Bang Med J 2021; 54 : 13-16
